I do hate the cold weather and I am happy that it is over. We are expecting high temperatures in the eighties for the weekend. I’ll take it for April. I did see my first mosquito the other day while I was washing my car. These pesky pests are the one downfall of living near the water. The flying pests can be controlled in most yards by effectives measure like fly lights and mosquito magnets. I suggest that you pack a deep woods insect repellent to be safe though. Typically, more deet is more protection.

The problem is really bad when dusk hits and the wind is down. The mosquitoes come in flocks and can leave large welts for days. I have a tough time getting my boat back home without swallowing them. I even have glueboards installed on the boat to help get them. But, there is nothing better than hearing those fly lights zap them all night long.
