It is no secret that poverty breeds violence and crime.  I have seen and heard multiple cases of local theft in recent months.  Every day, the news broadcasts multiple home and car break-ins.  It is inevitable that as more and more people lose their jobs & homes that their desperation will rise.  My grandfather told me a lot about life.  One major point that I will never forget is that I should never be surprised about how people will act while desperate.  The point of my story is that by taking the right precautions, one can limit the risk of such thievery.  Lock you car doors even if you live in a gated neighborhood.  I know if i was trying to steal something I would go to the nicer homes first.  Hypothetically of course.  Last of all, please do not leave the following items in plain site of your car:  GPS, phones, wallets, purses, or anything valuable.
